Maca is root vegetable, like a turnip, grown at high elevations in the Andes region of central Peru. It has been used for centuries by indigenous Peruvians as a food source as well as for increasing stamina, strength, and energy. It also supports healthy libido function and improves mood. An increase in libido appears to occur after taking Maca. In studies from Peru, it appears to influence all demographics and is not associated with systemic hormones. Those studies also found that it can improve semen quality, including and rise in volume, sperm count, and motility.
Legend notes that the Incan warriors would take it prior to entering into battle, during the height of the Incan Empire.
Directions: Take 40 to 60 drops 1-2x/day in a little water, your favorite beverage or direct from the dropper, or as recommended by your health care provider. 2 oz/bottle. Also available in capsule, powder, or gelatinzed powder forms.
ALERT! Keep away from children. Do not take Maca if you have a diet low in iodine (found in some organic foods such as cranberries, sea vegetables, yogurt, potatoes, strawberries and iodized salt) unless you consult with health care provider. If taken in larger doses and with a low iodine diet, it can cause goiter. Consult your health care provider if you are on medication, have a medical condition or are pregnant or lactating.
